16th August 2004: The steam engine "Futte" is a nice example of an oscillating steam engine. As the engine is double acting, it will run on steam or air, at very low pressure and with a nice calm speed – when running, the sound is wonderful.

The overall dimension of the engine:
Height = 110 mm (4,33")
Width = 100 mm (3,93")
Depth = 65 mm (2,55")

The designer built this engine by means of a 19" lathe, including a small homemade milling attachment and a small drill press. Further, it will only take the kind of tools most "machinists" have in their workshop to build.

This is a pleasurable project to work on and includes turning, milling, drilling, soldering, marking up, filling, polishing, and many more operations.
