Purchasing the Metals: Proper gauge for sheet metal, forms the metals are available in, etc. 1 minute.
Cutting and Forming the Metals: Cutting larger sheet down to workable size, cutting wire, rod, tools to use, jeweler's hand saw, press blanking, etc. 4 minutes.
Surface Preparation: Very important to the look of your final piece. Ways to achieve a uniform surface finish are demonstrated. Texturizing with different tools, abrasive blasting. Niobium can be anodized after you have achieved the surface finish you need. Titanium must be prepared in an etching solution for the most brilliant colors. 14 minutes
Coloring the Metals: Intro: 2 minutes
Coloring Ti by Torch: After surface preparation, Ti can be colored using a simple workshop torch, or variable heat torches from hobby stores, for different looks. 5 minutes
Coloring Ti & Nb by Anodizing: Explanation of demonstration of how the colors are produced. The system components, safety guidelines. Anodizing requires electricity and a water/phosphate bath solution. Anodizing bath techniques - dry anodizing, wet anodizing, anodic painting, smooth color gradations, etc. 45 minutes
Project Demonstrations: Six step-by-step anodizing projects incorporating several techniques. 42 minutes
Joining Techniques: List of cold joining techniques, mention of fusion welding. 1 minute
Care Instructions: For jewelry and display items. 1 minute
